Welcome to my web site here at 'Deckle Edged', I hope you will enjoy looking at my work, all my books and paper cuts are for sale. Each piece is unique and hand cut; all my designs are affordable little gems created in my cottage in Shropshire, England.



My Book Arts fall into two catagories, Altered Books and Paper Cuts. I really enjoy both forms and love working particularly with black card. I enjoy altering books; I make imaginary worlds by cutting up 1930's 40's or 50's books (no books are harmed in this process, well - maybe just a bit !) - my inspiration comes from childhood memories of the pictures coming to life and books becoming close friends. I hope these Altered Books take the viewer into a fairytale land and evoke nostalgic emotions and responses to the work.



I am especially interested in architecture and the skyline relationship between "The New" and "The Old". I cut and shape card, making my imagined cities look oddly familiar. I bind them into book form, each is unique, I do not use templates, I go from my thoughts to paper and cut the outlines.

EXHIBITION NEWS: I have an exhibition with Castle Artists (3-Tunns Brewery, Bishop's Castle) on the 27th-28th November - then a solo exhibition at the SpArC Bishop's Castle from 4th December through to the end of January 2011 - It would be lovely to see you there.
